Had such a happy afternoon with a group of friends at one of the taster sessions at the Glasgow Ceramics studio, Cath was the perfect teacher! She explained everything really clearly and gave our group guidance at just the right moments, allowing us to learn but also saving us from too many failures. Part 1 of a two-part Raku course. As a beginner, I was anxious but need not have been. Made welcome, everything explained and demonstrated clearly, and help and encouragement were sensitively given. Back in three weeks for the second day. Great stuff!
In October I had a 4 week ceramic tile making classes with Alison which unfortunately weren't as good as expected. I don't feel like I've learned much, it felt more like she just gave us some clay to play with and then asked if we have any questions (obviously we weren't experienced at all so how we're supposed to ask questions about topic we don't really know). I booked a one off taster session throwing class with Nicola Henderson. I couldn’t recommend this enough! I booked this as a birthday gift for my mum and it was perfectly suited for this. It was £145 for 3 people and we got to keep all our creations. I would urge anyone interested in pottery (even total beginners) to book a class at the studio.
