My sister and I stopped at Gilly's Chile about a year and a half ago. We had a wonderful conversation with Gilly's brother, Gerald, who shared lovely stories about his brother and the store. We left with full hearts and loaded up with delicious hatch chiles. The absolute best experience. I highly recommend stopping in.
Right off the highway coming from the north Gilly's is the first stop. They have Ristras , salsas, and other agricultural products like pecans, pistachios, etc. there are also chests full of frozen roasted chilies. We bought a ristra, salsa, and a sack of pecans. The prices for everything were the best. Buying directly in Hatch you are cutting out the middle person above the 40. Glad we waited until the end of our trip to buy Chiles in Hatch.
I have been buying my chile from Gilly's for a while now. My favorite is the Lumbre. It never disappoints. This is the spot you need to go for your authentic hatch chile!
