I love the small town feeling that this bank gives, we recently switched to German American from another bank because we wanted to be able to bank with people who were local. Somewhere where we could walk in and talk to our banker like a friend whenever we have concerns! I deposited my checks on a Saturday, saw the money in my account, and used my debit card to spend over $4,000 over the weekend. Then Monday came — the day I was supposed to leave for a $3,000 vacation — and suddenly my account showed a negative $4,000 balance. I had to cancel the entire trip because I had no access to any money. It was non-refundable, so that’s $3,000 completely gone. Tellers were great. Able to work with me on moving my HSA to another bank. Great customer service.
