I had an appointment scheduled for 10:15 AM and arrived at 10:30 AM, which is within the clinic’s stated 16-minute grace period. Despite this, the receptionist stated she needed to ask the doctor whether I could still be seen. I explained that this visit was urgent, as it was necessary to obtain a referral to the surgeon who performed my prior surgery following recent imaging that identified a new lump at my surgical site. I thought people deserve to know my grievance with this facility. I was taking a high dosage of prescribed Zoloft for many months, and asked about a renewal on my prescription or if I should wean off of it. No one here, including my PCP responded, so I felt terrible withdrawal symptoms for weeks. Truly unprofessional and scary. Please stick with the Martinez Health Center if you can, they are much better.
I’m surprised to see a 4.4 rating, given my experience at this center. To be fair, not everyone here is the problem -- some staff are genuinely kind and helpful. But overall, I’ve consistently had to fight for basic access to care I need and am entitled to. The biggest issue is severe disorganization. Rescheduling an appointment (three days in advance) turned into a multi-day maze: the department number listed on my visit summary has a full voicemail box -- and has never worked in the six months I’ve been a patient.
