I wish I could leave ZERO stars! This guy overcharges for crap service! Been with this company for years and since the new owner took over it’s been horrible!! Leaves the poor hardworking ladies up front to deal with complaints while all he can do is hide behind an email. I paid good money to get my taxes done here and can’t even get a 15 minute consultation! If you wanna buy a Lincoln and drive off with a Kia then this is your guy!! Follow up from last years post at this time. So after paying MORE THAN $600 preparation fee for joint filing for 2023 tax season at Genesis Accounting, and a requested phone call from Dana as to why a more than double the fee from the 2022 year, (no return phone call) we decided to go elsewhere for our 2024 tax prep. In short, we got our taxes completed within 24 hours and for only $150.Too bad, I've been with them when they were Central Booking years back.
I have used genesis for a few years now without issue. This year i might as well have done them myself. I had to constantly reach out to get paperwork, I never got emails back. Everything was “not going through” I got an automated call saying my taxes were done & when I called back to ask to have them sent to me as they usually do I once again got the answering machine. Never got a call back either thank god I called again before driving 40 mins to Lorain to confirm they were mailed to me. Then come time for the payment. $25... read more
Myself, my mom, and my daughter all had issues with this company so we left. I just had one question which I wanted to speak to the owner, Dana, about and he would not pick up the phone and talk to me. We were with this company for years when Debra owned it and were very happy. Since the new owner took over it has been awful. Stay away from them.
Sorry Genesis, but the numbers don't add up. A 125% price increase for tax preparation from the year prior is a bit hard to stomach. Sorry, I won't be back.
