Had a fan that was noisy on my PC, came here because I have the Best Buy warranty plan that includes service through Geek Squad. Not keen on returning after my experience. Was told it might be a quick fix, basically told them I just wanted a deeper clean than I was able to do at home, and to check out the fan noise. 3 days, and what would have been a $350 charge later, but was free through warranty services, they apparently ran a bunch of software diagnostics that I didn't think were necessary just to tell me the noise can't... read more
I called for a simple laptop fix (replacing charging port) and the lady at the call center insisted that it would be easy and they might even have the part on hand to do it in my 20 minute appointment window. Once I get there the guy says he'd have to ship it out and it would be 2-4 weeks to fix. I'm not mad about the timeline, I'm mad about being lied to. I need the fix faster than that and wasted 45 minutes driving to and from the store with 2 small kids just to be told I wasted my time. Thought I'd go with the "reputable"... read more
I am pretty good at computer stuff, but I'm no whiz. When it comes to not being able to figure out what the heck is wrong, I won't go anywhere but Geek Squad. They're super fast; they gave me a 2-day window initially and then had my computer done in 5 hours. Explained, everything they did, and anything they found; and she's up and running now. Thanks geek squad.
