Google Best Buy reviews to get a better sense of what folks think about Best Buy Geek Squad Service. It is poor service that does not stand up to their hype. A small data transfer (twenty minutes) stated to take six to seven days. They have too few geeks and can offer only excuses as to why the work can not be done or takes rediculously long time frame (making it impossible). Very poor customer service. The guy was sitting in the back and wouldn’t come out to help us. The Best Buy guys told us the Geek Squad has a five minute window for appts and they “checked their cameras when we walked in” and were six minutes after our appointment time, so they refused to see us.
I went in with a problem with my PC. I dealt with a gentleman named Sam working for the Geek Squad. He was fast, professional, and friendly. Really couldn’t ask for more in an interaction!
The service is good because they know what they do, they fix the problem, but the attention, the way of dialoguing with people, the way of solving a problem is HORRIBLE. THEY ARE NOT HELPING PEOPLE. THEY HIDE THERE IN THE FACT THAT EVERYTHING IS BY APPOINTMENT, EVEN IF YOU ARRIVE 5 MINUTES LATE. I have gone 3 times and instead of helping and cooperating simply to leave a computer they tell you "you have to have an appointment" that is RIDICULOUS if you are not asking them to do anything just TO RECEIVE IT.
