I was disappointed by GBQ. I came across public information online that raised serious questions about one of their acquisitions, and it left me uneasy about how much due diligence was done. For a firm that promotes accountability, overlooking those kinds of issues makes it hard to trust their judgment. Based on what I saw and experienced, I would not feel comfortable recommending GBQ.
GBQ must stand for Go Broke Quickly because this company is the absolute worst (unless of course you enjoy tax nightmares). They bought out a smaller tax firm that my company had been working with in Toledo, sent out a cute little letter informing us that they were now handling our taxes, then proceeded to rack up over $7,000 in fees without telling us.
