My husband and I first called Gate City because we were going to buy a car with funds available in our account. We asked if we could for One day have the P.O.S limit raised from 2,000 to 15,000 to do this. We did not know exactly what car we wanted or what price it was going to be. Been with them 2 years and haven't paid a single fee. Maybe somebody needs to go back to remedial math... Then you wouldn't get charged for overdrawing your account trying to float checks.
They only charge you fees if you suck at banking! Not kidding! Also, read before you sign a contract.
NOT FREE CHECKING!!!!!!!!!! Went to go deposit some checks, and I had almost $200 in fees?!?!?!?! How can you put fees on someones account it had been 7 days since I had done any thing with my account..........Thank goodness I had a balance of $230 so I didn't get any overdraft fees they told me..No apology and no explanation as to what these fees were for. Talked to a manager, and talking to a wall might have made me feel like I got further....I just had to leave before I started yelling and screaming in frustration.

FREE CHECKING---------NOT EVEN!!!! – Within 24hours I had $180 in fees for $56.09 of charges. They take advantage of the hard working person to make easy money for themselves. I check my account usually daily to see where I sit. Just because I missed one day I turned around and was charged outrageous fees.......this is NOT FREE CHECKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT COST ME over 10% of my monthly salary to bank here! I sugest you reconsider leaving your financial institution! These people don't budge on thier fees!!!
