We went to China on the 14 day tour. It was way better than I thought it would be. The hotels were very nice in good locations. The tour guide Sha Sha aka Ivy was WONDERFUL !!! The smog the first day was kind of bad after that not to bad. The 4 day cruise was nice the three gorges tribe excursion was BEAUTIFUL! !! The room on cruise one night was warm.We still can't believe the trip didn't cost way more.
Gate 1 rocks. They totally exceeded my expectations in every category. They even attract great people. Everyone on our tour was kind and I'm still friends with a lot them today. I'm looking forward to my 2nd Gate 1 experience next month in Thailand.
Had the most amazing 8 day trip in Ecuador. We had a great driver and fabulous tour guide. Every hotel was amazing! I would 100% recommend gate1 to anyone looking!
I just returned from my second wonderful trip through Gate 1. I spent 10 days in Russia (Moscow, Novgorod and St. Petersburg), and our guide, Galina, was first class, top notch! What a brilliant and knowledgeable, conscientious and fun lady. She is a gem! The trip was incredible. 16 day Western Med with cruise. What a wonderful trip. Our tour guide Daniella was absolutely the best! Everything was perfect.
The worst customer service that I have ever encountered. The staff is unenthusiastic, not knowledgeable and worst of all not helpful. No one in this company has tried to help me at all. I will never in my entire life book a trip through this company or recommend them to anyone. I hope groupon does not use them either.
Just got back from one of the Greek Islander trips. Transfers were very efficient between hotel/airport/port. However the layovers were quite long. In Mykonos we were told upon arrival by our gate1 guide that we had a last minute 'upgrade' to hotel Rhenia from Vanillia Hotel. Although Rhenia was a beautiful hotel with great staff and service (and id go again!) the Mykonos 'hotel upgrade' situation soured it a bit because it seemed like the tour guide was not fourth coming about the situation. Each time we do a Gate 1 tour, I think this may be the best one so far. We just returned from Guatemala's famous Tikal ruins which are the largest in the world and the Mayan ruins at Copan in Honduras. There were so many "Kodak" moments. It was fun to dress up like the Mayans and see the beautiful sawdust carpets.Two boat rides and we even stayed at a hotel with a water park. POSITIVE - I liked that a Gate 1 representative was there at each airport/port to greet you and guide you to your hotel as well as offer options for next day tours. This made transfers very easy and the tours were all good. We had a 7 hour layover in Athens and Gate 1 provided a hotel room directly across from the airport for us to go relax at no additional charge. Major plus!!
