The staff is so rude. They do not care. They will tell you lies and stories that aren t true. Do not trust this place. Find another facility for your loved one. You deserve to be treated the right way. What a shame that the staff they hire to run this place are some of the more incompassionate people. DELMAR GARDENS IS THE WORST.
Horrible treatment of loved on by the CNAs. Phoney. Nurses were horrible also. You have been warned.
What a great place! My parents moved to Garden Villas of Lenexa eleven months ago and we have nothing but positives to report. The staff is professional, friendly, and attentive to residents and their families, meals are nutritious and extremely well-prepared, the facility is well-maintained, activities are designed for a range of abilities and interests, and there is a true sense of community. After leaving their home of 50 years, my parents found the friendship, security, and support they needed.
I have worked here for over a year now and all I can say is that I could not be happier. I 100% disagree with the other reviews, the employees are treated EXTREMELY well, especially compared to previous jobs. Great benefits and great people to work for. I hope to work for DG for the rest of my career
In December, 2002, my mother and I visited many supervised independent living facilities in the Kansas City area. We decided upon Garden Villas of Lenexa. She moved in in January, 2003 and lived there very happily until she passed in April, 2008. In January, 2005, my bother moved into Garden Villas of Lenexa independent living. Very uneven treatment of residents - it mostly depends on what wing your relative is on. If its a good wing with a good nurse in charge, your loved one will be well taken care of. If the nurse in charge is not professional, all the rest of the staff will take their cue from her and the residents will be ignored. It varies from shift to shift, too. Families need to visit often and be aware of the level of attention your loved one is getting. Speak up.I think this would be true of any nursing home, really.
I was very dissappointed in the reception I got when I visited this week. I was told I could get a tour of the facility but never got out of the main recepetion area. When asked if someone else would have the time to show me around I was again denied. I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy and get asked daily bt patients what AL/IL or SNF they should go to. She has been living there for 7 mos and dont want the family to bring her any food or snacks and do not wish to leave the place because the food is good and tasty, plenty to keep the residents occupied and the whole staff that i have ran into and spoken with are very sincere about the residents and does it with a smile..It is a wonderful place. Simply the best in North County! I have visited many in the area and Mom has been in one for rehab several years ago but it didnt even come close to this one. There will always be some problems just because of the nature of the business but this place may be the exception. We have had very minimal issues and they were taken care when brought to the staffs attention. It even beats some assisted living places that are suppose to premier in North County.
