We saw a recent performance of Pippin and enjoyed it very much. I've seen other reviews of this performance complaining about the integration of sign language and hearing/non-hearing dual casting for the show. While making it a different experience, it did not detract from the enjoyment for me or my wife. Those who are upset about this kind of update should "walk a mile in the shoes" of hearing impaired people before objecting to the change. One show I saw, Rock of Ages, was amazing and immensely enjoyable. Recently, I saw Pippin which could have been very good. The acting and singing were great but unless you are hearing impaired, you probably will not appreciate it. It was impressive that almost every actor was signing throughout their performance which is an amazing talent. A bit distracting but understandable. However, they also had two separate actors in 2 of the main roles (one signing and the other vocalizing) which was confusing and ridiculous. It seems ... read more
