I retained Scott Gallooway when I listed my home for sale by owner. After 3 weeks of getting no interest, I decided I needed an agent and requested termination of my contract. The only thing they had done at that point was send me a seller's disclosure form, which you can get free online. I called to speak to Scott, but never got a call back, and instead received a bill for $525, deducted from my retainer refund: $350 for the initial meeting and $175 for the associate who emailed me the form.
