DO NOT LET THIS PLACE FOOL YOU - HORRIBLE UNPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Purchased complete bedroom suite of furniture in April.
Order was paid in full at the time of the order.
Prior to ordering it was confirmed it was IN STOCK by placing a phone call to Furniture Depot (FD) in Rahway NJ located 82 miles from my home (1 hour 25 min drive) During the initial conversation, we were very clear furniture was needed asap. We were told it would be delivered the following week (we ordered on a Friday)
Monday they call and inform they needed to confirm card with a conference call with my bank since we recently moved. That never happened, Instead Chris called us again to ask for a confirmation of my debit card numbers over the phone.
We declined and informed him that we already submitted it online but that we were not comfortable providing that information to the salesman and informed him it already cleared our bank account.(THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN OUR FIRST CLUE TO THE UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR THAT WE LATER ENDURED BY FURNITURE DEPOT)
Chris informed at that time we would receive delivery the following week because the delivery route was already planned for the week. (NOT WHAT HE STATED UPON ORDERING)
Entering week 3 after purchase, no furniture, no return phone call.
I sent an email to inquire, FD customer service replied stating that it was agreed upon the delivery time would be 2-3 weeks, that is just one of the MANY UNTRUTHS. The same day Chris calls to explain that Furniture Depot will not deliver our PAID & IN STOCK furniture until they have additional deliveries in our area and we will just need to wait for that to happen but it generally takes 2-3 weeks.
Chris concluded the conversation by stating we would receive a phone call from delivery company by the end of week 3. ANOTHER UNTRUTH.
Left messages for Chris -NO response.
Emailed - NO response.
No call was ever received by Chris or anyone else until the day the furniture was being delivered
Delivery company called and scheduled for a Monday 3-7pm and low and behold it was 6:57 pm when it arrived.
THE DELIVERY GUYS WERE GREAT, We actually felt bad for the two kids being stuck in the middle of such NONSENSE!!
I AM BEING KIND AS I PUT THIS INTO WORDS, BECAUSE FURNITURE DEPOT’S SALESMAN CHRIS MADE THE DELIVERY PROCESS AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE FROM A to Z wasting the time of the delivery guys, customers and the local police with being UNTRUTHFUL, SHADY PRACTICES AND UNPROFESSIONALISM LIKE NOTHING WE HAVE EVER SEEN. THIS COMPANY IS A COMPLETE AND UTTER DISGRACE THAT LACKS IN ALL FACETS OF PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS PRACTICES.
After waiting more than 4 weeks, after our purchase THERE WAS SLIGHT DAMAGE TO 3 PIECES !
Whether the delivery guys called FD/Delivery Company they work for to inform company or just by chance was left unsaid however Chris happened to call us as we were inspecting the final pieces being delivered.
My husband explained our disappointment that 3 pieces had minor issues of damage to Chris explaining clearly the Damage was not caused during delivery, it is definitely a lack in the quality check from the manufacturer.
Chipped drawer and paint flaking from the bottom of the dressers and small dent.
Immediately Chris offered to refund $25 per damaged piece if we decided to keep it (only to recant the offer after it was agreed upon) or we would need to wait an additional 2-3 weeks or more for another delivery of the replacement pieces that AGAIN are IN STOCK because THEY REFUSE TO MEET CUSTOMERS NEEDS or PROVIDE A QUALITY SMOOTH DELIVERY PROCESS FOR DAMAGED ITEMS SOLD. We agreed on the refund and hung up Only to receive another call a few minutes later for Chris recant the initial offer of refunding $25 per damaged piece as agreed. Chris now informs he cannot refund anything for the damages until he spoke with his boss once he returned to the office the next business day. We decided we would keep the furniture, it was told to Chris that
