Overall, we had a good experience and enjoyed the tour, but there were a few issues that kept it from being a 5-star experience. One inconvenience was that tickets could only be purchased in person rather than online. When we arrived, we were also informed that only one trolley was operating that day. As a result, each stop required about a two-hour wait for the next trolley, which made it difficult to fully take advantage of the hop-on, hop-off format. We had the best ride and day with this company, started and ended with Kyle the school bus driver (enjoyed the other drivers too). All of them have funny dad jokes and historical tidbits about the island. Kyle went above and beyond when he heard the orca pod was headed our way at the lighthouse stop, he knew exactly where to go to see them and had some great information about the pod, answering our questions and he was as excited as us! DO NOT USE THIS TROLLEY. Our trolley started leaking VERY HOT (literally steaming as it came out) and VERY DANGEROUS coolant from the driver's area into the aisle of the trolley. It luckily didn't injure anyone, but this could have severely burned someone. The driver did not notice and could not hear us until the next stop, and once we told him and he saw what had happened, he realized the trolley was overheated. GREAT TOUR AND TROLLEY RIDE with Rick. Fun Tour, Rick had lots of Island information and behind the scenes tales!!!! Was very FUN!!!! Been to Friday Harbor and the island several times but explored more this time….. sure glade I did… whole new perception of it!!! Love Friday Harbor even more now after this tour!!!!

What a great experience today from Snug Harbor. We were not at correct stop and he found us! So fun and learned so many new things about San Juan Island. Jim made the trip a truly enjoyable day. Thanks Aaron Taylor for helping arrange the ride today. You went above and beyond. The open air trolley is a great way to see key points on the island.
