Well, this art gallery was quite the surprise. Great historical displays with descriptions as well as more local art work in the gift shop. It's free but consider dropping off a donation. Glad I wandered downtown Sylva as part of my exploration of all 100 NC counties.

i had visited sylva a year or so prior and the freedom pavilion wasn’t open. as soon as i came back to sylva i knew i needed to go here. the curator was such an amazing person to talk to. he was so knowledgeable and personable. i would 100% recommend going here and immersing yourself in the beautiful experience

Was not expecting the reaction from my kids by stopping here but it was a fantastic outcome. This struck my daughter's extreme interest. She has spent the past year watching every documentary she can about the wall and holicost. We have either gone to the mountains in north Carolina or to Florida for vacation but this year she wanted to go to our capitol and see the holicost museum. You just never know what might strike your kids interest just by finding this place while walking through town.

I understand, this is the largest collection in the world, so I was told. Very amazing, a must see. I found it emotional, educational, an intriguing. I didn't get pictures of everything in there, there's so much to see. I suggest, did you take time, to walk around and see what they have.
