It’s given me a peaceful space to heal and connect with others who understand the recovery journey. The sense of community here is powerful—I’ve found comfort in sharing, listening, and growing alongside my peers. It’s more than a recovery house; it’s a place where I feel heard, supported, and at peace.
I have been going to the Freedom House Durham for about 7 years. The Freedom House has always been my comfort zone with battling life issues and struggles. Dr Julie Mutua has been the best doctor I’ve had for my mental health concerns. She is always available welcoming and she not only understands but she has a compassionate heart.
