Very disappointing experience with Fox Rent A Car in Winnipeg. I was told that complimentary U-Drive/cab service was included with my rental, and I even have a message confirming that I would not have to pay any cab charges. Despite this, I ended up paying for the cab myself. I also booked the rental for $115 per day, but I was charged around $200 per day without a clear explanation. Easy to deal with. A little less convenient than an airport kiosk but they pay for transport. If you're planning to use your American Express card, go elsewhere. They don't accept it.
I rented a car through Fox, because the online quoted amount was lower than the competition. Turns out it was in USD + they had hidden fees at check out... including a daily rate for transportation and 20% vehicle maintenance. Turned out not to be cheaper. Plus, the pickup/dropoff is not at the airport (shuttle by UniCity Taxi to UDrive Car Rental location - 5 to 10 minute ride). Next time, I'll be renting elsewhere.
They are in fact not at the airport - false advertising. Not clear that the price is in USD. I’ve cancelled my reservation.
