Inadequate staff, many with indifference to residents. Insufficient linens; residents have to beg for clean towels. Trash unemptied for days in resident rooms. Unlocked front door; residents could walk, especially on weekends. No supervision in dining room; residents could choke. Medication errors. Windows corroded preventing exit of residents in case of emergency. Little interaction by director with staff. Many empty beds. Residents take care of each other. My Mom had a difficult introduction to assisted living. After my Dad passed away after they had been married for 72 years, my Mom had to move from her home in Buncombe County and into assisted living closer to me in Ashe County. She initially went to another assisted living facility in Ashe County until she was hospitalized a few months later and that facility refused to take her back. I called some time back to get a health status on a couple of residents at this facility. I didn’t get any kind of status for either person, resulting in my time being wasted as I was lied to, disrespected, and abused. I later learned, at the time I called, one of the residents I called about, was gravely ill. I found out that resident died on the internet. I didn’t even know he was sick!!
