Upscale, not cheap Foodies has quite a variety of products, considering its size. But I think the best description is an upscale small urban market in a neighborhood that has a serious lack of options. Despite the lack of other markets, Foodies does a great job with their offerings including their deli section. The prices are exactly what you'd expect from a small market with no competitors but they maintain a great product and loyal customers.

Urban Market for Those Who Aren't on a Budget Foodies is an incredibly confusing store. It doesn't have the selection, prices, or even convenience of Shaw's and it doesn't have the charm and offbeat selection of a more expensive place like DeLucas. It's middle of the road and a little forgettable. Everything seems overpriced because only people who live around it shop there and I'm guessing only because it is closest to them. They are not a gourmet market by any means and the only thing urban about it is the fact that it is ... read more

Foodies is just what it's supposed to be I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about. Foodies is not meant to be a gourmet store, or the cheapest place around, or provide funky choices. It is meant to be a convenient and comprehensive small-format grocery store that serves a dense urban neighborhood. There is no parking there because most customers walk from around the neighborhood. I live three blocks away and I'm very happy to have Foodies so close. I never have to worry about running out of anything, because I c... read more

South End's grocery store Foodie's is good for what it is - an urban grocery store that's on the small side but carries all the basics you'd want. The prices here are high, but it has a decent selection of specialty items, especially given the size of the place. There aren't any other markets within a reasonable walking distance, so for a lot of South End residents this is the place to go.

BEST Fresh Squeezed OJ, BEST Rotisserie Chicken, BEST Selection, Best EVERYTHING! – You must go there! Foodies is an urban experience of its' own. They have a huge selection of food for vegans, vegetarians & meat eaters. Their prepared foods are great for on the go. Their service is a style all its' own.
