I’ve been shopping at this supermarket for five years. Overall, I’d say the prices are pretty reasonable. A few years ago, they even had watermelons for 99 cents each. During that time, I basically lived on watermelon and hardly drank any water at all, haha.
Adding a 10% fee at checkout instead of just building it into the prices only complicates price comparisons. And when you compare prices at food king to other stores, ie Walmart, you will find that with their little 10% fee they add on, they are not the cheapest or even close. Even if you saved $.08 one one single kind of meat(which is the only thing I found cheaper) you lose way more than that on the rest of your trip. To Food King Management & Corporate Team, I am filing a formal complaint regarding a purchase made on August 21, 2026 at your Food King location on Slide Rd in Lubbock, Texas. I spent approximately $150 on groceries. When I got home, I discovered that both the pizza and Hot Pockets I purchased were molded and unsafe to consume. This is a serious food safety issue.
