It is quite frustrating that I am unable to pay my property taxes by credit or debit card at my local office. Additionally, the county charges nearly $16 for online payment processing. This raises the question: who benefits from these fees? It certainly does not seem to serve the interests of the citizens. I am now inconvenienced, having to visit my bank to obtain cash or a check, or alternatively pay additional fees to the county just to settle the bill. Very nice staff but the cost of plating our personal pickup truck was outrageous. You were taxed at the higher 10% making it $1200/year to a 2018 Dodge Dually. When we consider buying our next house will be looking out of Florence county.
