I came to Five Star for only two months and then came to the conclusion that I should make it permanent. My expectations were high and have not been disappointed. The staff is Made new friends, too. In between all this I broke my hip, I was away for two months, upon returning I had to have therapy, and I am recovering and doing very well,TU Just waiting for the flowers and trees to bloom on the grounds, because walking is a must for me and outside you feel all stress passes away.

I want to thank the team at Five Star for how much you gave to my mom in these last few years. When my parents first moved here, my dad cried- thinking his life, as he knew it, was over. But he went on to make some of the best friends of his life, started a men’s group and became an active member of the tenant association. When he passed away, my mom found her own “girl gang” passing time in the living room with her friends. I am fairly early in the process of looking for an independent living facility for my mother. For anyone in a similar situation I recommend a visit to 5 star residences in Yonkers. Speak with Charlie Dumas there, and he will make the process easier and actually enjoyable. He is knowledgeable, courteous, and extremely helpful. I have been a resident of Five star for a little over two years in that time. I have seen some excellent employees Joe Tolo is one… He is kind intelligent patient. He is truly a star. I am very sad to hear that he is leaving. He has been like family to me good luck Joe you will be missed

My 91 year old mom moved into Five Star of Yonkers in spring of 2024, after giving up the apartment she and my dad had lived in for more than 60 years. Encouraging her to make this move was the best thing that we could have done for her. She has lots of new friends, goes to exercise class every morning, and attends countless lectures, performances and other activities every week.
