I had an urgent need to get an item notarized and do not have a bank in the area. The bank will only notarize for customers stating that it is a matter of completing their due diligence with respect to identity. Interestingly enough, the only requirement they have for a bank account is a picture ID. As you can surmise, that is no more due diligence than what a notary needs.
