Extremely poor experience with First Response Finance. My vehicle was found to have structural corrosion that had been badly covered up, and when I raised a complaint they avoided transparency at every step. They refused to communicate with the independent engineer (DCS) by email and insisted everything be done over the phone, leaving no written record. I exercised my legal right to voluntarily terminate my Hire Purchase agreement with First Response Finance. The vehicle was collected on 07/10/2025, and my remaining balance was cleared in full beforehand. Despite this, they’re refusing to confirm my account as settled — claiming they must wait until the car is sold at auction. This directly breaches the Consumer Credit Act 1974, which clearly states that once a voluntary termination is completed correctly, the customer owes nothing beyond fair wear and tear. I have started the process with First Response Finance. My first interaction was with Nick, going through the whole process. He was absolutely amazing! Nothing was any trouble for him and he answered all my questions. The whole interaction was straightforward, informative and very professional. A very expensive and no corporative . This is the first finance company the intrest rate is 29.99% . There no helping customer service and the target of the company is just 1st and last time dealing with any customer. Never ever recommend the first response finance ltd .
