Pretty shady company. I received a notification that my account was being upgraded, however now I was going to be charged a new monthly maintenance fee. I called to see if there was a non-fee option and was told that they do not offer one. Once I asked to close my account, suddenly a non-fee option was available. Stay away from this company. I'll be switching banks thanks to this behavior.
After First Mid Bank took over Blackhawk, significant mismanagement occurred, as you can see from other reviews. I closed my account by withdrawing all funds and obtaining a final statement. Despite this, First Mid *reopened* my closed account, allowed a *debit* card transaction, and then charged overdraft fees—despite not having overdraft coverage and the account being closed. Very professional and friendly
Very displeased with the service and staff here. No one ever seems to know what to do or how to respond to questions/concerns. Would not recommend at all.
