After First Mid Bank took over Blackhawk, significant mismanagement occurred, as you can see from other reviews. I closed my account by withdrawing all funds and obtaining a final statement. Despite this, First Mid *reopened* my closed account, allowed a *debit* card transaction, and then charged overdraft fees—despite not having overdraft coverage and the account being closed. Very professional and friendly
Very displeased with the service and staff here. No one ever seems to know what to do or how to respond to questions/concerns. Would not recommend at all.
Not thrilled with the bank transfer. Had to ask the bank for a written document that outlined my mortgage details (that they owned) so that I could continue my automatic mortgage payment. Simply filling out the online document did not work. I get that handoffs are tricky, but this seemed to be an oversight. Update: First Mid reached out and facilitated the process.
