Went to bank to cash my first ss check lady let me sign it took my id then she checked if I had account an said she couldn't cash it really a government check funny when I got out prison in May they cash a prison check from department of corrections with no account just not avery good practice an I was thinking of opening checking account there that won't happen now
This is a great bank until you have to deal with a person. I'm basing my review on no fewer than a dozen interactions I've had over ten years where a teller pulled some ridiculous power play or another. 1. Teller refused change a 100$ dollar bill to 5- 20's because, while I had my account numbers, I did not have my photo id (which was being mailed to me after being stolen as I explained.) I normally love my bank that I’ve been with for at least 6 years and have always loved the people besides Doug. Everyone else has always been helpful and kind , he never really has a friendly welcoming personality pretty bland person . He claimed he couldn’t fix an issue I had and wasn’t very friendly about it ether way but when I spoke to another person a manager Kim , the issue was easily fixed within 5min and got the overdraft refund back . We are so happy with this bank! Even when we go to different branches in town they always treat us like valued customers. They have a diverse staff and are so friendly each time we stop in. Our business and personal banking needs are well met with First Merchants! Sonal Patel was particularly helpful today.
