This bank deserves zero stars. They recently “lost” my deposited paycheck (only to “find” It weeks later); customer service is terrible; branch staffing turnover is very high, and tellers aren’t well-trained; fees are exorbitant; debit cards don’t offer tap payments; and the on-line banking system is the worst I’ve used. In sum, First Merchants provides few of the services or reliability of the big banks, yet lacks the friendliness and customer service of smaller community banks. Go elsewhere.

I wish everyone was more confidently trained in the Cash Advance process. Otherwise, I am still banking with First Merchants. Not blown away. Not super disappointed.
