I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! Martin was incredibly helpful when I came in. They have a great team here. Update (07/11/2025): I wish I could write another great review but it seems I can only update the one I gave before. Great service at this local bike shop. Highly recommended for new bikes, gear and service.
I had a very disappointing experience at First Cycleworks. I initially brought in just the front and rear wheels from my full suspension bike to be trued, as both were visibly unbalanced. I was charged $60, but when I reinstalled them on the bike, the wheels were still clearly not trued properly. So I brought in the entire bike, asking the shop to: 1. True both wheels correctly 2. As I was riding past, Martin mentioned my bicycle tires were low on pressure and offered to refill them for free. Very personable and kind of him to offer. Bike's riding a lot better now :)
Go find another other bike shop! Martin, the owner and mechanic, is EXTREMELY RUDE to his customers! And he doesn't like people who actually KNOW what they're talking about and he can't scam! He's your typical bike shop owner who can't make a living the HONEST WAY, so he has to scam people. I was actually told by a friend in the cycling community who's also a bike mechanic that Marty is well known for overcharging for repairs and not doing repairs properly if he doesn't like the bike or certain customers.
