I am sharing this to hopefully prevent it from happening to other clients or their families when closing a deceased person’s bank accounts at First Citizens. This was the only bank we had this issue with.. All necessary documents from probate, our ID’s . Wills and death certificates were taken to the bank .. We signed legal documents to withdraw the the funds in First Citizens accounts., We thought all accounts were closed until we began receiving a monthly statement.
