Great bank and great people. I always used large national banks before, but I got tired of all the mergers, and the revolving door of tellers, and the holds they would place on deposits, and the general inflexibility of a big bank. I've had the pleasure of banking with First Bank and the Westhampton Branch for 6 years. I have trusted them with my personal, family and business accounts and would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for outstanding customer service, personal attention, and professionalism. The Westhampton Branch staff are genuinely kind, friendly, and thoughtful and serve their customers with the utmost respect and loyalty. It's a first-class operation all the way!
My review is based on a situation unrelated to an experience inside the bank but tells me something about the mindset of management at the bank. While I don't bank here the branch is located right next door to one of my favorite small businesses in Richmond, the Yellow Umbrella grocery store. I was extremely disappointed when the bank put up a fence between their building and the Yellow Umbrella to discourage patrons of the store from parking in the bank lot and walking to the store.
