I had a very disappointing experience with First American Bank, specifically with Jacob in the escrow department. I used to think of First American Bank as a neighborhood bank that valued its customers, but the level of customer service has declined dramatically. Based on my recent experience, I'd be better off with a larger bank like Chase or Wintrust, where I've found customer service to be far more responsive. AWFUL AWFUL customer service ! As u can see from all the terrible reviews, this place is the dinosaur of banks! Hands down the worst with technology, and if u are a Zelle user then this isn’t the bank for you. Don’t choose just because it’s local . It’s not worth the headache!
HIGHLY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! I am only leaving one star b/c I have to leave a star to post this review. I purchased a car with First American being the end holder of the car note in August. As of January they will not take debit or credit card payments over the phone. Their website will not allow you to make a payment online unless it’s due.
