My father recently visited First American Bank to cash a check, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. He was initially treated with suspicion and hesitation simply based on his appearance, even though he had a valid check to be cashed. This bank discriminates against Latinos. Not only did they fail to provide services in Spanish knowing there was a language barrier, but made an assumption based on appearance. They assumed that because a Latino man was cashing in a VAILD check, and the person who made out the check was a staff member’s mom, instead of calling their mom (Which was the person who made out the check) in the first place, they provided a BS excuses that they would not process it.
