Got a notice of assessment in. Paid it May 15th, but due to the fact that “there systems were down” for roughly 2 weeks my web browser while paying for this notice didn't go through. So I did a second time. I got charged twice for the assessment. Ever since I’ve been playing phone tag trying to get my refund. Now i gotta wait another 2 weeks for a CHECK of my refund. Worse customer service I've experienced.
The rudest staff I’ve ever talked to. I was nothing but super polite and the man on the phone didn’t want to help me at all. Would either hang up or transfer me to his “supervisor” which goes straight to mail box. The Second Lady I talked to was equally rude and disrespectful. terrible experience
Probably the worst customer service I have experienced in my life time, and that is saying a lot.
It is a shame that there isn't more communication with the finance department and the residents of KCMO. I got a letter this May for $1,233.00 for my city tax that was never filed along with interest and penalties. I used to work at Garmin and they never took out the 1%, H&R Block never mentioned it while doing my taxes, and I never received any info or statements from the city for over 3 years... Received a notice of assessment letter for paying my city tax late. Sent my payment in Mach. 28 days before the deadline. When I called to ask when they received my payment they said June lol. This place is a total joke. They will do anything to take your money. Learn from my experience. Pay your city tax in person so they won’t screw you
