I was given a check by a 5/3 customer, drawn on his 5/3 account. I don't bank there because of a horrific experience with them years ago. The CSM didn't know this, but when I presented the check to cash, I was informed that they take a percentage of the check, not just a standard fee, and that for my amount it would be "about $100"!!!!!! $100 to cash a check???No wonder people hate banks.

I stop using this bank years ago. Maybe over a decade? Can't quite remember due to the rude staff. I thought ok isolated incident I'll just go to a real bank and transferred everything to another bank with better customer service. Now my mother has been using this bank for decades, home loans, loans, car loans, just about every thing. She goes into this branch since she lives in the area just to get some money out. Well, maybe c 3/5, not 5/3, can't notarize deeds. Was told explicitly that they don't notarize deed transfers.

They will not cash a check written from their own bank unless the recipient also has an account with them or pays a 2% fee. Take your business to another bank.
