Atm wouldn t let me deposit into checking, I work late so i couldn t go into branch, atm would only let me deposit into savings so I did it thinking I would transfer money online only to find out it wouldnt let me do that either! Then because of that my state farm insurance payment was declined because they wouldn t overdraft from savings to checking to cover payment and my insurance cancelled me! Use to be a customer, but left due to all the fees they attach to your account. So when I went to cash a check for my daughter who received a \$10 check for her birthday from her grandmother, they wanted to charge \$8 to cash it since I wasnt a Fifth Third customer and the check was written on a Fifth Third account. Im not real good with math, but I believe that is an 80% return for cashing a \$10 dollar check. These guys will nail you to the wall with no mercy on their overdraft fees. I gave them a chance to repair the damage, but they "couldnt". Fine. Then I "cant" stay. When banks are getting FREE money from the FED, they need to be nice. Im as conservative as they come, but first time offenders should not be nailed with hundreds in fees for a few bucks worth of overdrafts. Moving on. And I strongly suggest you dont go there.
I was with First Charter before they sold out to 5/3. Their banking practices are as stupid as their name. I havent met one customer service representative that was friendly but that is not why I no longer bank with them. The reason I stopped banking with them, along with my parents and my children, is because it takes them up to 4 days to process any deposit. Any withdrawal made before they process that check OR CASH will be overdrawn if they havent "processed" it. Yes, even cash. I dont how a bank can be so screwed up. We ... read more
If you want customer service, do not use this bank. If you want competent answers from Loan officers, do not use this bank. Dealing with 5/3 is like dealing with the Three Stooges. Avoid this bank like the plague.
