I was in the process of closing on a house and showed up at the bank 15 minutes before closing to send closing funds by wire transfer. Was told I would have to come back the next day because the bank doesn't do wire transfers after 3:30PM (1.5 hours before closing time!). Hmm.... I'm pretty sure they just wanted to go home for the day and not be bothered. It's the first time I've ever heard this and have done wire transfers many times before. I got a check from the IRS (tax return) Tried to do an online deposit. They flagged me for fraud and told me the check wasn’t real. I provided the check, my ID & SSC. It’s been three months they still haven’t released my funds. Even after talking to the IRS, told me I don’t have to provide them NOTHING. And that they would’ve never sent me the check if they didn’t believe it was me. Oh and they kicked me out from banking with them 30 days after trying to make the deposit.
Called Hal greer branch at 1:42pm asked about appointment for notary. She told me I didnt need an appointment. I asked what time do we need to be there, what is the latest time. She replied "as long as you are here before 5pm". Arrived at 4:45pm and was told she left early today. No apology, no concern that I left work early to get here. Disappointing to say the least. Now headed back downtown to public library to find notary.
The ATM outside the branch is HORRIBLE! If I wanted to put money in my account, it loads my money then gives it back. Also had a few times where I have gotten different information on how the rule are being told "they change every day" I have had nothing but issues since I became a member but I will say it has gotten a lot better in the past month with the customer service but the ATM still sucks!!!!
Fifth third bank as a whole is the worst establishment I've ever done business with. This location specifically.
