Abby (Abbie, Abbey) charged my son, who has longstanding accounts, a $3.00 fee to cash a very small ($139) income tax refund check. He had well over the amount in his bank account. When I asked her to explain why she did it, she tried to justify it by saying because it wasn’t a fifth third check, she was supposed to charge the fee.
