Last week I endorsed a check and deposited it at the ATM at the Bank. The ATM spit out a receipt that said due to technical difficulties the check COULD NOT be returned. So what does that mean? In years past, you parked your car and walked inside the bank; showed them the receipt from just a few minutes earlier; and a bank employee fished out the deposit (or ATM card that got jammed, etc.) and handled it at the counter.
