Went in to ask about winding yarn, and was abruptly told I was annoying. I presume this was a joke, but it was in poor taste and jarring. The owner told me to start over. Her tone was rude and condescending. This is not the first time that I have gone into this store hoping to support a local business and explore a new hobby, and have been met with such a cold and unwelcoming front. The yarn and handmade items are genuinely beautiful, but the atmosphere was anything but welcoming. There was no greeting or friendly acknowledgment when I entered, and when another pair of shoppers came in, they were met with the same cold, dismissive treatment. I watched the woman winding yarn (likely the owner) scowl at a young man for opening a package of something he had purchased elsewhere and accuse him of having “candy.” It wasn’t food of any kind, but that didn’t seem to matter. What a wonderful yarn shop! Janet and owner Lori are welcoming and so much fun to chat with while shopping. And the yarn…0h my goodness the yarn! Hand dyed and absolutely luscious.
