Skip the Lexington office—go to Richmond instead! I needed to renew my driver’s license (not a Real ID and no vision screening required) and first tried the Lexington office as a walk-in. My ticket showed I was 8th in line, but after a couple of hours I had only moved up to 5th. Even people with appointments were voicing frustrations, and the staff there seemed overwhelmed and disorganized. I left and went to the Richmond office instead—best decision! Transferred my Georgia license to Kentucky. This process takes 10 minutes in Georgia so I was shocked at how unorganized, rude, and down right lazy the people were at this office. 6 workers playing on cellphones while 20 people waited. Refusal to answer pertinent questions. The rude exchanges these people had with elderly patrons was appalling.
