Far Niente functioned as a gravity flow winery till the onset of prohibition. It was in disuse for 60 years and opened again in 1979. Far Niente believes in quality and therefore they produce one Chardonnay and one Cabernet Sauvignon of the highest quality, luxury and elegance. Gorgeous drive up to the property in the Spring, Summer and Fall. Recommend arriving early or staying after your tasting to enjoy a walk around the water area. Tastings are set with a limited curated wine selection. Compared to the other family wineries, there is less of a selection here. You'll learn about the interesting history with the guided tour. This property also has a more upscale, posh feel compared to Nickel & Nickel or Bella Union.
