Far Niente functioned as a gravity flow winery till the onset of prohibition. It was in disuse for 60 years and opened again in 1979. Far Niente believes in quality and therefore they produce one Chardonnay and one Cabernet Sauvignon of the highest quality, luxury and elegance. The ugliest experience ever. Arrived there and welcomed by a person asking us” you can stay only if you will buy and leave your credit card in advance “ how can you treat clients this way and pretend to be an exclusive place???
Absolutely beautiful grounds; one of the most amazing in Napa. Wine is good; I wouldn’t say the best in Napa. No bathrooms near entry point. Take time to walk the storybook settings.
The wine was outstanding. Our host Reed was wonderful and extremely knowledgeable. The property is gorgeous.
Far Niente is simply beautiful. However we were not allowed inside for the tour. Unbeknownst to us, it was closed to the public. Our tasting was outside. While the property is gorgeous, unfortunately we could not complete the tour.
