As a supporter of the FJC I have been consistently impressed by the services they provide. Some of the most vulnerable of our community are given hope, legal assistance and a path to safety under the umbrella of the FJC. I strongly encourage others to support this fine organization.
Please be aware this place intimidates female victims into not reporting. Staff are hostile, judgmental, prejudice and do not care for safety of victims. Victims are not properly coached on their rights and forced to sign documents that have been incorrectly filled out, or pressured into being inaccurate. Most women do not report crimes because of shame and blame from law enforcement and "justice centers". Please be aware that this FJC deletes 1 star reviews, there were several more stories of intimidation, neglect and abuse from staff to victims. This place needs to be investigated. I second the reviews that left victims feeling fear and shame with no help. Administration please be advised.
If your abuser is Latino, there is a female interviewee who will make sure to make you feel so small and question your experiences so that you don't report them. She is Latina and her tone changed as soon as she heard the father of my child' s last name. When I used his first name is was all support, but once she heard his Latino last name her tone changed and she started asking questions differently.
