Jason Shepherd of Fairheaven Memorial Chapel did a terrible job on my father in law. At first we didn't recognize my father in law.. Mr. Shepherd did nothing that we agreed upon. He had 8 days to get things right, yet the day of the funeral service, it was as though we never let Mr. Shepherd know what we wanted. Mr. Shepherd informed us the reason some of the fees were so high was because of staff. There was no visible staff. He doesn't even have a location to do business. He uses Sampson Funeral Services inc. @ 2601 Pitkin Ave. , Bklyn, NY, as a front. The staff there didn't even want to take an envelope Mr. Shepherd asked me to drop off there. As we got nearer to the date of the funeral, we started noticing that Mr. Shepherd wasn't all together a funeral director we should do business with. As we informed family & friends that we were using Fairhaven, they confirmed our fears. The stories we heard made my wife cringe. I feel that a grieving family should not have to go through such an ordeal. The unexpected loss of a love one is tragic enough.
