Eight years ago when we purchased our new home we used a prominent kitchen designer to prepare a large island maple countertop asking them to stain the wood with a light finish so that the natural grain of the wood showed through. After many months waiting and 3 attempts, which all failed, the designer finally delivered the top with a dark opaque brown stain which we had no choice but to reluctantly accept. This is a fabulous Canadian company who made us custom floating shelves years ago, which are strong, sturdy and still look amazing 10+ years later! Easy to work with, plus full of great ideas. Highly recommend working with them!
