Reserved a car at Jackson Ohio Enterprise a week in advance for pickup at 10:00 the following Tuesday. I showed up 45 minutes early. The "manager" Ethan said my reservation was for 10:00 and my rental was not ready. No apology and very arrogant. Busy location however the staff have always proactively communicated and taken good care of me. I use them for work travel frequently and have appreciated their customer service and care.
It seems I'm not alone in my experience with this company, particularly the Rock Hill store, where the staff often come across as unkind and vindictive. Their tendency to dismiss customers with lies and sarcastic remarks is disheartening, especially their apparent disdain for older individuals. On October 4, 2025, until today, December 4, 2025, I rented a car from Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Youssouf (Black male) was my initial salesperson and the person I worked with throughout my experience; his customer service was impeccable. On one occasion, I had a transaction with Micheal (Black male). Initially, I was given a Jeep Compass to drive, but it was noted that the car had a crack in the windshield. Beware of this location. All other enterprise places i have used allow after hours drop off. This place charges you until they open. Even though your online reservation says you can drop off after hours. Beware.
A year ago, I reserved a malibu To go to The Cleveland Clinic for a pre surgery appointment. I made the mistake of telling the counter girl it was for a brain tumor. I arrived to pick it up the next day and was told it wasn't ready although it was parked right outside with the other rentals. After waiting more than an hour all the rentals went out and finally a guy comes in and takes the malibu. It was the last one and closing time. They took me out back and gave me a Hyundai. Incompetent staff. Stephanie interviewed me. She never showed up to the first interview which really was hard on me. That day I was moving from Michigan to Kentucky by myself with three large dogs. It was the only day they offered me to interview. I showed up, they did not. No sorry, nothing. Had to reapply to get a second interview. Finally got a second interview and the interviewer couldnt get teams to work again so she did a phone interview. Even sent her a follow up email with all of my accomplishments. I do have one compliment. The young woman that helped me on Monday was fantastic! Personable, funny, and provided excellent service. A true gem. The only shining star I've dealt with in four days. I got a Nissan Sentra that shook so violently after getting on the freeway that my cheeks were shaking. The water bottle in the console was shaking and my bag fell of the passenger seat. This was, without a doubt, the worst car rental experience I have ever had. The Crestview, FL location provided appalling service and a vehicle that was in an unsanitary condition. Upon receiving the car, I was horrified to discover it was infested with roaches. This is completely unacceptable and a serious health concern. The poor service didn't stop there.
