If you are new to Medicare, be extremely careful with EvergreenHealth. I recently retired and scheduled my first appointment simply to establish a primary care relationship and refill a long-standing statin prescription. I had no new conditions to diagnose. Instead of scheduling the 'Welcome to Medicare' visit (which is covered at no cost to the patient), Evergreen misdirected me to a PA under a different service code. It's absolute bull crap that 2 CNAs are being left responsible for 60 residents. The on-call phone does us no good when the manager on call is going to be available after 8am. What's the point of on-call if this is how it works. Sometimes a complete management change is required to fix things.

I am a CNA for one of the 50 something facilities owned by Evergreen. I don't recommend any Evergreen Facility to anyone even as an employee. In our facility, favoritism wins. When the corporation bought our facility they left our management team intact. Our management team was the biggest issue with the facility to begin with. On weekends, our maintenance folks can't even show up to clear snow. Instead CNAs are required to clear snow to protect families and EMS as well as care for 20 to 30 residents per person. I would give zero stars if it was allowed. This corporation owns over 50 facilities. Our facility was not paid today like it was supposed to be. Also, they have told us to make due with one weeks supplies for a 2 week period. They expect CNAs to operate broken equipment and have told purchasing in their facilities to quit ordering nitrile gloves. Per the federal government, they are required to supply the needed PPE to employees. Some of us have been doing this job for over 20 years and we have acquired allergies to latex an... read more
