Tried to open a savings account. That's it. I have a very high credit score and I wasn't even asking for credit. Application declined. No reason. Get an email that almost literally says just that I was declined. I called and the person says "Sorry, they don't even tell us why. You can try again." Uh... No recourse? No chance to understand what happened or maybe help resolve the issue to give you my money?!? Well... Okay.

Everbank has been my main bank since close to when it began service, in the late 1990s. A few years ago TIAA took it over, and recently it changed back to being called Everbank. I never had any real problems with them, until about 6 months ago. I made a payment to a utility for $300.xx in their app and they never paid it. But I saw they returned $200.xx to my account and they couldn't tell me why. Then I started getting late payment notices from the utility. CD: originally opened under TIAA but EverBank acquired the company— it has been a nightmare. STRONGLY ADVISE STAYING AWAY FROM EVERBANK. 1) Website/app are useless except for opening an account 2) Cannot make CD maturity plan in advance even if you CALL [ridiculous considering EVERY other REPUTABLE BANK has that feature built into their platform] 3) Customer Service said I must call on the DAY OF MATURITY to make my end-of-term selection; if closing the account, they will MAIL ME A CHECK [Again, reputable banks allow for tra... read more
