The absolute worst financial institution ever dealt with! Had restrictions placed on accounts months ago. To get the restrictions released their special research department asked a bunch of intrusive questions. Then restrictions were finally released after quite a while. After a few months, Etrade again randomly placed another restriction! Now my funds are frozen and have no access to them! I opened an account with ETRADE and deposited substantial funds. Without any warning, ETRADE locked my account, which prevented a scheduled payment to my Barclays credit card from going through. As a result, I was charged a $40 returned payment fee and $356.17 in interest charges. I escalated the matter to Daniel Pittman, a supervisor at E*TRADE, who acknowledged that the account lock occurred.
