UPDATE 3: Seriously. You can't make this stuff up. So, today I wanted to buy something (for $12) on Amazon, using my Equity debit card. Instead of the purchase going through, I got a screen saying, "transferring you to Equity bank..." and then a screen with an Equity Bank logo, saying, Equity bank needed to verify my identity, so they were going to send a text to my phone. Except I don't own a cell phone, so I can't get texts. 2 hours on the phone to Equity. They say it's Amazon's problem, and only Amazon can fix it. Finally... read more
UPDATE: The next day, I discovered that a check I'd deposited for my honey hadn't been credited to his account (although I had a receipt for the deposit) because it was the same dollar amount as funds I'd transferred to his account. So they decided it was a mistake - - without even investigating. He had to argue with them, before they tracked the check to the corporate offices and discovered yes, it was yet ANOTHER mistake.
